Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I just put my indoor router by the window? Why do I need an outdoor extender?
Indoor routers aren't built for outdoor signal penetration. Exterior walls — especially brick, stucco, or metal-sided construction — can block 50–90% of WiFi signal. Window placement helps but still leaves dead zones in far corners of the yard, driveway, or outbuildings. The Greenwood 3000P is designed from the ground up for outdoor deployment: IP67 weatherproof housing, 4×8dBi high-gain antennas aimed outward, and a signal booster amplifier that pushes coverage up to 300 meters. Mount it on an exterior wall or pole, and your outdoor WiFi is strong, stable, and permanent — not "maybe if I stand in the right spot."
How much area can one Greenwood 3000P actually cover?
In open line-of-sight, the 5GHz band reaches approximately 300 meters and the 2.4GHz band approximately 100 meters to client devices like phones and laptops. Actual coverage varies with obstacles (trees, buildings, terrain). For properties larger than 300m in any direction, deploy multiple Greenwood units using WAVLINK Everything Mesh — they link wirelessly and share a single SSID, so devices roam seamlessly as users move across the property.
Can it survive a Canadian winter? A Florida hurricane season?
The IP67-rated enclosure is fully sealed against dust, heavy rain, and temporary water immersion. The unit includes a ground wire terminal — we strongly recommend connecting it to prevent static buildup and lightning damage. The included PoE injector and power adapter are not waterproof and must stay indoors. For extreme climates with sustained temperatures below -20°C or above 50°C, we recommend mounting the unit with some overhead shelter (eaves, awning) for additional protection.
How hard is the installation? Do I need an electrician?
No electrician required. The Greenwood 3000P is powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet) — the included PoE injector plugs into a standard indoor outlet, and a single Ethernet cable carries both power and data to the outdoor unit. Mount the device on a pole or exterior wall using the included bracket. Access the setup wizard at waplogin.link or 192.168.30.1 from any browser. Choose AP mode if you're running an Ethernet cable from your router, or Repeater mode if you're wirelessly extending an existing WiFi signal. Total setup time: 15–20 minutes.
What's the difference between the Greenwood 3000P (WN573HX3) and the WN588HX3?
- Greenwood 3000P (WN573HX3): 4×8dBi antennas, compact design, AX3000 dual-band, ideal for residential backyards, small farms, and driveways. More affordable entry point for outdoor WiFi 6.
- WN588HX3: 6×7dBi antennas, supports up to 256 simultaneous clients, built for higher-density environments like RV parks, marinas, and commercial venues.

Both share IP67 weatherproofing, PoE power, AX3000 speeds, and Everything Mesh. Choose the Greenwood for standard residential outdoor coverage; choose the WN588HX3 if you need more antennas and higher client capacity.
What's included in the box?
- 1 × Greenwood 3000P AX3000 Outdoor Mesh Extender
- 4 × 8dBi Omni-Directional Antennas
- 1 × PoE Injector + Power Adapter
- 1 × Ethernet Cable (100cm)
- 1 × Mounting Bracket + Cable Ties
- 1 × Wrench + Screws
- 1 × Quick Start Guide

You'll need to provide: a CAT5E or better Ethernet cable (max 100m) if the included 100cm cable isn't long enough for your installation.
