This order came with a SSD enclosure, as well as the cord to connect it to a device.

So, I have a lot of hard drives, but two of them have recently broken. I’ve been able to salvage the actual drives and determine that the enclosures failed. I got this recently, and I really like it. I don’t know why this is, but I have two internal drives (both the same size) from different brands, and only one of them works with this enclosure. I know they’re the same type of drive, so both drives should work with this enclosure, but one of them won’t work, no matter what I do. If I figure out why that is, I’ll update this review with the results. Other than that, this is a great enclosure. It runs a little warm, and the drive I’m currently using with it operates a bit slower than in its previous case, but that may not be the fault of the enclosure. I would recommend this, but also remember that this enclosure may not work with your drive.

I have a ton of cheap $40 and under cases so I decided to spend the extra money and see if it would be any faster. To be honest the $30 ones I have get about 1.Gbit/s so the extra money gets me 1.5x faster for the read and .5Gbits/s faster for the writes. Not sure if it’s worth double the money. I will probably keep it though just to have another enclosure

This external SSD enclosure is small and light, and takes a full size NVME SSD. The included USB-C cable has a screw lock that holds it onto the enclosure to prevent cable slips, and once installed, this thing is FAST, being a real NVME drive. You will want to be a little careful in that while the enclosure is vented, there is no active cooling. But it beats the heck out of USB thumb sticks in terms of both potential capacity and read/write speeds. The thing is a beast. The only negative I have is that getting the drive into the case was a little wonky. The cap for holding the SSD in place is nifty once you figure it out, but it's a bit different than the screw on caps you'd be used to on a PC or laptop motherboard, and the tiny screws that hold the enclosure closed are a little fiddly. Not a deal breaker, and doesn't take away from what this product is once you get an SSD installed, but worth noting

I was looking for an external hard drive enclosure for my NVME ssd 500gb drive so that I could use it with multiple computers or travel with it. While browsing Amazon one night I came across this wavlink high-end enclosure and decided to order it because I have purchased their products before and really like the quality. Once it arrived I put my ssd drive in the enclosure and went to plug it into my laptop to test, which didn't work and got a notice that this was a thunderbolt 3 usb-c and would not work with my laptop. Honestly I didn't know about thunderbolt 3 and that it needed to have a special usb-c outlet which none of my computers have. I was really disappointed in this and I will have to wait until I can get the right connection. I marked in down one star because it should be backwards compatible at least. I will say it is very well made, looks amazing and comes with a nice pouch to store it. Unfortunately I not able to use it at the moment. Just make sure you have an thunderbolt 3 usb outlet or it will not work.
